Richard J. Anthony – Richard is a national level exhibitor with 126 Queens to his credit along with 6 National Challenge Classes. He is also a Master Consulting Rosarian, an accredited ARS Horticultural Judge and a long time member of the ARS Miniature & Miniflora committee and a member of the ARS Classification Committee and ARS Consulting Rosarian Committe. He is a frequent presenter at the National and District level on various rose topics. He has registered 22 roses to date including the miniature roses ‘Brenna Bosch’, ‘Dr Gary Rankin’, ‘Robin’s Star’, ‘Star of Night’, ‘Richard H Hughes’ and ‘Striking’ plus minifloras ‘Abigail Elise’, ‘City of Torrance’, ‘Evening Star’, ‘Julie Hearne’, ‘Mega Ty’, ‘Not First Choice’, ‘Rosemarie’, ‘Tom Mayhew’ and Floribundas ‘Emily Nicole’ and ‘Margaret May’ plus the Hybrid Tea ‘Dr Monica Valentovic’.
David E. Clemons – David is a national level exhibitor with close to 100 Queens to his credit which includes 2 national Queens along with a National Best of Show. He is also a Consulting Rosarian and gifted presenter on various rose topics from exhibiting to hybridizing. He currently has registered 12 roses including the top rated exhibition miniature and miniflora rose. His roses include the miniature ‘Alysheba’, ‘Joy’, ‘Donerail’ and ‘Tabasco Cat’ along with minifloras ‘Bold Ruler’, ‘Charismatic’, ‘Foolish Pleasure’, ‘Ghostzapper’, ‘Ruffian’, ‘Tammy Clemons’, ‘Unbridled’ and ‘Whirlaway’. David is currently working on a Hot Pink rose to name in honor of his daughter. We are confident that many more thoroughbreds will be named in the coming years.
Bob Martin – Bob is a national level exhibitor with close to 200 Queens to his credit which includes both national and district Queens and 11 National Challenge Class trophies. He is currently ARS VP and serves on several ARS committees including the Miniature & Miniflora committee. Bob is an accredited ARS Arrangement and Horticultural Judge and a Master Rosarian. Among Bob’s numerous awards are the ARS Silver Medal and Klima Medal. Bob has given presentations at 22 ARS National Conventions and numerous District and local rose societies over the past several years. Bob is also a prolific writer having written 40 articles that have appeared in the American Rose Magazine and over 600 articles that have been published in ARS local and District publications. He has registered 14 roses to date including the miniatures Ilona and Margie plus minifloras Alakazam, Angel Grace, Butter Cream, Bronze Medal, Coconut Shrimp, Peter Cottontail, the Floribundas Bolivar, Pasadena Star and Peachy Cheeks, the hybrid teas Dona Martin and Lilac Surprise plus the Polyantha Elizabeth Navarro.
Don Myers – Don is a national level exhibitor with over 100 Queens to his credit which includes 2 National Queens and 5 national Kings. He is also a Master Rosarian, an accredited ARS Arrangement and Horticultural judge and Chair of the ARS Consulting Rosarian committee. He wrote a column for over 5 years for the American Rose magazine and is a frequent presenter at the national and district level. He is currently the District Director of the Carolina District. He has registered two roses to date; the miniature Covington Ridge and the miniflora Contrary Mary. He has several more roses that he is evaluating for possible registration.
Glenn Smith, Jr – JR as he is affectionately known in the rose world is an exhibitor and a member of the York Area Rose Society which is hosting its 4th Miniature & Miniflora National Rose Show and Convention in 2016 and the Fall National Rose Show and Convention in 2017. JR has registered 7 roses to date including miniature roses Ellie Marie, Moskoot, Meddlin Mary and Wanderlust plus miniflora roses Miss Mabel and Sandusky and the Hybrid Tea Pastor Dave Yingling. JR has several seedlings that he is evaluating for possible registration.
Verlie Whitson “Whit” Wells, Jr – Whit owned and operated Wells Mid-South Roses for several years until health issues forced his retirement. During his time as an active hybridizer he registered close to 120 roses many of which are still in commerce today. For Love of Roses has another 75 of his seedlings that are being evaluated for possible registration and introduction.
